The Shimano Curado DC 150A takes the proven Curado platform and upgrades it with Shimano’s latest IDC4 Digital Control braking system and MGL Spool III. Designed for anglers who want longer, more controlled casts with fewer backlashes, the DC system monitors spool speed 1,000 times per second and automatically applies the appropriate braking throughout the cast.

The updated IDC4 system features four braking modes, allowing anglers to quickly adjust the reel for different line types and fishing situations. Mode 1 prioritizes maximum casting distance, Mode 2 is designed for braid or nylon mono, Mode 3 is optimized for fluorocarbon, and Mode 4 provides maximum braking for skipping baits or casting into heavy wind.

Shimano's lightweight MGL Spool III reduces spool inertia for quicker startup and improved casting performance, particularly when throwing lighter presentations. A rigid HAGANE Body minimizes frame flex under load, while Cross Carbon Drag provides smooth and consistent drag performance. The Curado DC 150A is built as a versatile workhorse for everything from Texas rigs and jigs to crankbaits, topwaters and other moving baits.
